We enjoy strong links with other local schools and businesses. This, along with the fact that we are within a town, gives us plenty of opportunities for local projects.
We also enjoy going on residential and day trips; recent adventures have included a trip to the space centre, whole school pantomime trip and year 6 inspirational trip to The University of Northampton.
We are very fortunate to have classrooms that are spacious to incorporate active learning. There are computers, net books, iPads and laptops available to the children on a daily basis. All classrooms have a fully integrated interactive white board and their own book corner. There is a main ICT suite, which is used by children and parents alike.
We have an abundance of books for both taking home and guided reading sessions.
Here at Greenfields, we complete a home learning project each term.
They have a Scientific theme each time. The children have the opportunity to complete a project on each topic in any way they choose. For example, by creating a booklet or diagram. Friends and siblings can work together if they wish.
The winners and runner-ups from KS1 and KS2 receive a prize and these winners are announced in our weekly newsletter!
The internet is an incredibly positive place for education, keeping in touch and entertainment but of course young people need to learn to use it well, to keep safe and to not always take things at face value. To support them, and to support their families, we've started a blog called Stay Safe Online - please do have a look and leave us a comment, especially if you can share any useful top tips for keeping safe, or point us to a useful web site or video to help share positive safety messages.
