On Wednesday, Greenfields pupils in Key Stage 2 took part in health and wellbeing sessions, led by Dan Flint from DRET.
The morning saw the pupils (and staff) put through their paces in a physical session that looked at the importance of exercise. It also demonstrated to the children the various levels of exercise and how it affects their heart rate.
The afternoon sessions were classroom based, focussing on the importance of a healthy diet with a particular focus on how much sugar they are putting into their bodies.
Also as part of our health and wellbeing day, the School Council organised a parent and child Zumba session. This is a segment of their current project: ‘Greenfields’ guide to staying fit and healthy’. Watch this space to see what else the School Council plan!
