Learning a new sport

On Wednesday 5th December, our Goalball team, consisting of Macey, Jay, Charlie-Lee and Jermaine, went to Southfield School to take part in a Goalball tournament with 6 other schools.

Goalball is a team sport designed specifically for athletes with a vision impairment. Participants compete in teams of three, and try to throw a ball that has bells embedded in it into the opponents' goal. The ball is thrown by hand and is blocked by lying down on the floor.

The team played a total of 6 games and came out in 5th position. Each player performed fantastically and thoroughly enjoyed taking part.
