Last week, thirteen phenomenal children travelled from Greenfields to London to perform scenes from our production of ‘Julius Caesar’ from the Shakespeare Schools Festival (SSF).
The SSF were receiving a prestigious award from The Japan Art Association, and wanted an outstanding example of the work they do with children to help celebrate their achievement; obviously children from Year 6 were spotted back in November, and invited to perform again!
As well as performing at the Royal Academy of Art in the morning and the National Gallery in the evening, the children had a wonderful day exploring some of London’s most well-known landmarks: Buckingham Palace, St James Park, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye - and even had time for a boat trip along the Thames where they saw Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre again.
The Creative Manager from SSF said afterwards, “it was a complete joy directing your pupils and then spending time with them yesterday. Their flexibility, creative contributions and the sheer pleasure they took in performing were an utter delight to work with.”
What a fantastic day. #OnlyAtGreenfields
