Sporting Champions

On Wednesday, the Greenfields Netball and Football teams went to Charnwood College to take part in the DRET Champions Day.

In the morning, both teams had a training session from either Darren Purse, ex Birmingham City football player or Natalie Panagarry, England Netball player and Loughborough Lightning Captain. In the afternoon, both teams played 5 matches against the other DRET champion schools. Our Netball Stars came out in 3rd place and Football Stars in 5th place, which is incredible considering this was out of all DRET primary schools in the country.

Following the busy day on Wednesday, the Netball team went to Kettering Science Academy on Thursday to play a district tournament against 15 other Kettering schools. Despite the miserable weather, the team battled on, playing 3 matches and not losing a game. They came out in 2nd place in their pool and due to one goals difference, missed out on a place in the semi finals.

A busy few days for sporting events at Greenfields but the teams both played fantastically. Look out for our sporting achievements in future events.
