Greenfields Primary School & Nursery

Greenfields Primary School and Nursery stands proud as an oasis in the community where every child has the right to succeed and feel proud of their individual achievements.

A Mile a Day: Greenfields Covers the Distance

'Congratulations' to all the students for running the Daily Mile on Wednesday as part of the Northampton Town covering the distance for Children in Poverty. The whole school ran around the field three times with Damon Fox, Northampton Town's Football Club Business Development Manager, who has run an amazing total of 750km in the last 12 weeks since the 13th March and raise funds for children in poverty in Northampton. There are just over 7500 children in poverty in Northamptonshire and Damon's plan was to run the distance for all of them. Damon is aiming for a target of £10,000 or over between now and Sunday 4th June, when he will complete his run at NTFC's Sixfields stadium.

All the funds raised will go into the Education Department here at the NTFC Community Trust to be in the following areas for the 2023/24 Academy year:

offset the costs for schools who currently access the Primary Stars Programme (that will be used towards their Mentor where they are working with children who are in poverty)

• to pay for Educational Takeover Days in schools in a demographic of high deprivation (of which Greenfields is one of them)

• to fund programmes such as Team Talk (looking at targeted children for mental wellbeing)

• subsidising places on the NTFC holiday soccer schools programme & transport (for those who cannot access this due to their circumstances)

• funding equipment or kit for children to use at school or in grassroots opportunities

A huge well done to Chester from Excellent Elephants who raised an amazing £50 for his run. He was so determined and did an amazing job running around the school field 3 times! Well done!
