Diyas for Diwali
This week, Year One have been creating diyas to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. We learnt that diyas, which are small oil lamps, are important to the festival as it's believed that they help to light a path for the goddess of wealth. We also read the story of Rama and Sita and discovered how Diwali originated.
