Flying Foxes Discover Stratford-Upon-Avon.
This week Flying Foxes enjoyed a day trip to Stratford upon Avon. During the course of the day they had the opportunity to visit the MAD museum to support them with their learning for science and design and technology this time. After enjoying all of the amazing exhibits the museum had to offer then the class then took a walk through the beautiful Stratford streets and down past the canal to the Butterfly Museum. The tour guide was excellent and told the children lots of facts about butterflies as well as lots of facts about other creatures such as stick insects. Some children were incredibly brave and even got to hold one! They also met Kenny the Croc before heading off for lunch.
After lunch it was time to take a stroll to the Shakespeare school room and Guildhall. Here our fantastic guides told them all about the 600 year old building and they learned what school was like during the times of Shakespeare in the 16th Century. The Greenfields children and staff got to enjoy a lesson with their class master and learned all about what school would’ve been like for William Shakespeare when he was young. They wrote using ink and quills and discovered what clothing they would wear and they even got to touch the ground where William Shakespeare actually walked! A fabulous day discovering some of history and science that Stratford had to offer. It was topped off with a lovely sing-song on the bus on the way home. What a fantastic day!
