Govilion 2025

At the end of last term, a group of very adventurous children from Year Three and Four went on a residential to Govilon, Wales. During day one of their three-day stay they braved the heights at The Blorenge, exploring the Dragon's nest and took part in a night walk around the village. As their adventure continued on day two the Govilon explorers set foot on a tunnel walk through the pitch black depths of the tunnels in the Brecon Beacons. They had to use great teamwork and communication to navigate the tunnels with no lights. They then spent the afternoon gorge walking in the Brecon Beacons which finished with a trust fall in to a pool. Very wet and hungry after their adventures they headed back to base at Govilon Learning and Activity Centre where the fantastic staff helped them to dry off and fuel themselves for an evening of packing their belonging as well an Easter egg hunt. On the final day they said their goodbyes to the staff at the centre and headed to the mini busses for their final part of the trip at The Big Pit mine. After arriving at The Big Pit children kitted up in their mining helmets and popped on their head torches before entering the mine shaft via the lift shaft. They explored the mines and learned about the mining history of the area before boarding the coach for home.
