Greenfields' Lionesses

This week our girls football team attended a football tournament at Malcolm Arnold Prep School in Northampton. We had great performances in defence from Ano, Harleigh, Faye and Regan in goal. They were supported by some fantastic midfield skills from Daisy, Rhea, Charlotte K and Charlotte R and finally a great sporting performance up front from Megan.

We won two of our games 1-0 with super goals from Megan and drew two games 0-0. These performances took us to the top of our group to go to the play off for 1st or 2nd place. The girls from The Abbey put in a great performance and we drew at full time 0-0 leading to sudden death penalties. Megan, very confidently stepped up for the first shot and scored. As The Abbey came to take their first shot a very confident and distracting Regan bounced around in the goal, just tipping the shot over the cross bar leading to a Greenfields win! We even got to share their celebrations it with Cobblers goalie Jo Daniel!

Miss Dot and Mrs Wensley were very proud of their performances. Well done our little Lionesses!
