Space, the final frontier..... for Year Four
In our usual Greenfields fashion, all children in Year Four have enjoyed participating in a variety of hands-on activities during WOW day. Our main topic this term is all about astronomy. In science, we will be learning all about the Big Bang and the range of planets and stars that can be found in our galaxy, the Milky Way. On WOW day, all children created their own planets out of clay, which they later painted to look like each of the eight planets in our galaxy. In addition, the children were tasked with the challenge of creating a space lander in order to help a group of friendly aliens land on Earth. We will also be learning about the life and career of Neil Armstrong (the first human to walk the moon) in our Talk 4 Reading lessons. As part of this, the children created their own biography bottles, which they can add facts to as the unit progresses.
