Stratford Upon Avon Trip

This week Marvellous Meerkats had a fantastic day exploring Stratford Upon Avon. They started the day exploring how levers, pulleys and wheels can make moving toys and art installations in the MAD Museum. They had a fantastic time using the marble run wall and were great at directing the marbles through the maze.

The children then took a scenic walk through Stratford to the Butterfly Farm where they learned all about butterflies and met Kenny and his two lizard friends too. The guide, Will, told them tonnes of facts about butterflies. Did you know they only poo once in their whole life?

As a final stop they had the pleasure of meeting Master Jenkins, a 600 year old school master who had the pleasure of teaching William Shakespeare many years ago due to his intake of Brussel sprouts (without butter!) He told the class all about life at school in Shakespearean times, about the subjects the children would learn and how they recorded their work. He even told them children as young as 7 would have a serving of 5 pints of beer daily at school in those days! The group said they would prefer milk!
