Volcanoes in Year Four

This term, Year Four are studying volcanoes in their Geography lessons. They kicked off their learning by creating our own volcanic eruptions using Diet Coke and Mento Mints.

Remarkable Rhinos absolutely LOVED making volcanos on Wow Day this term! Using clay or putty, we created volcano shapes around plastic bottles. Then, after learning about the science behind why our volcanos would 'erupt' when we mixed vinegar and bicarbonate of soda, we gave it a go! Red food colouring gave our experiments a special look of lava and the children erupted themselves with joy when they saw the result!
