Year Six Visit Duxford Museum
Soaring Eagles spent a fascinating day at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford near Cambridge. Duxford is Europe's largest air museum and has real aircraft right from the beginning of air flight by humans. The children were able to climb on board some of the most important aircraft in history - including the fastest Concorde ever built! As well as aircraft inside the museum, the class also saw Spitfires from World War 2 taking off and landing on the airfield. They visited the tank and trench warfare museum and even squeezed into an Anderson air-raid shelter. It was a fascinating day and the children were engrossed in the history of the period. As ever, they were perfect ambassadors for Greenfields Primary School and Nursery.
Proud Lions will be visiting the museum on Monday.
