Safeguarding
Greenfields Primary School and Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. Providing a safe environment for all our students, staff and visitors is at the upmost importance to us.
Our Safeguarding Team

Safeguarding Information
Greenfields’ recruitment and selection procedures specify that all adults working with children have an enhanced DBS disclosure. This is to ensure that all unsuitable people are prevented from working with children.
We have robust procedures for admitting anyone into the school who will work with children and any visitor without a DBS (formerly CRB) certificate, including parents, is accompanied at all times.
All visitors are provided with safeguarding information, which outlines the procedure for reporting any concerns they may have.
Anyone witnessing a disclosure or feeling concern is directed to immediately record the details on one of the school’s internal concern forms (red forms/white forms) and to return it to one of the DSLs as soon as possible.
- Please keep Visitor badge on at all times
The visitor badge shows the children you are a visitor and not a member of staff. If we have seen your DBS check you will have a green visitor badge. If we have not seen a DBS check, you will have a red badge.
- All Teaching Assistants are First Aid Trained
First Aid boxes are available in each class room.
- Fire Evacuation Procedure
If the alarm should go off please exit immediately via nearest fire exit (do not stop to gather any personal belongings).
Gather on the nearest playground/sports field and await further instructions.
- Any other evacuation
When alarm sounds please exit via nearest fire exit.
You will be informed by a member of the Leadership Team/office if you need to gather in the school playground.
- Toilets are located in the corridor by the school hall/dance studio.
- We are a Nut Free School.
- Please do not use mobile phones or take any photos during your visit unless you have had permission to do so.
If you are a parent and you are worried about any child
If you have concerns about any child, whether a pupil at Greenfields or not, then you should contact the County Child Protection Team Contact Centre (MASH team) on 0300 126 1000 (option 1). You can do this anonymously if you prefer.
If you are unsure about contacting them, please do ask for advice from one of our DSLs who will be able to support you.

Online Safety
The internet is an incredibly positive place for education, keeping in touch and entertainment but of course young people need to learn to use it well, to keep safe and to not always take things at face value.
To support them, and to support their families, we've started a blog called Stay Safe Online - please do have a look and leave us a comment, especially if you can share any useful top tips for keeping safe, or point us to a useful web site or video to help share positive safety messages.
